Council Breakdown

Fraternity and Sorority Membership Dues & Housing

Membership dues/fee may include local and national membership dues, room and board (if the organization has a structure), meals and other one-time fees such as initiation or new member fees. The charts below provide you financial information by council. They include the high, low and average costs within that council.

While fraternity and sorority structures are recognized student housing, their residential houses are not located on University property and are privately owned. Questions about individual housing facilities should be directed to the organization’s local House Corporation Board. Further financial information will be provided during recruitment/membership intake.

**For 2022-2023, the average cost of living in a university-owned residence hall per year for a double room and unlimited meals is $11,476.00.

Council Dues

Each of our governing councils assess membership dues to all organizations that fall within their perspective council. These dues are collected to ensure council operations and support. 

National Pan-Hellenic Council:

NPHC assess a $10 per person fee to each member organizations. These membership dues are applied to each member organization based on the total number of members on the organization's roster with Fraternity and Sorority Life.

National Pan-Hellenic Council membership dues are used for, but not limited to, graduation cords for graduating members, Inter/National conference attendance support, and marketing/advertising NPHC events.

Interfraternity Council:

IFC assess a $25 per person fee, to all new members and a $17 per person fee to all active members of its member organizations. These membership dues are applied to each member organization based on the total number of members on the organization's roster with Fraternity and Sorority Life.

Interfraternity Council membership dues are used for, but are not limited to, continued support from the North American Interfraternity Conference, contracts between IFC and vendors, and to support formal and informal recruitment process.

Multicultural Greek Council:

MGC assess a $10 per person fee to each member organizations. These membership dues are applied to each member organization based on the total number of members on the organization's roster with Fraternity and Sorority Life.

Multicultural Greek Council membership dues are used for, but not limited to, graduation cords for graduating members, catering food for MGC events, and on campus room reservations.

Panhellenic Council

PHC assess a $17 per person fee to each member organizations. These membership dues are applied to each member organization based on the total number of members on the organization's roster with Fraternity and Sorority Life.

Panhellenic Council membership dues are used for, but not limited to, external partnerships such as Phired Up, guest speakers & programming and professional development for all Panhellenic women.

Fraternity and Sorority Life, Programming Fee

During the Fall semester, the FSL Programming Fee will be billed to returning members on September 1st and to fall new members on November 15th and during the Spring semester, the FSL Programming Fee will be billed to returning members on February 1st, and to spring new members on April 15th.
