There are over 40 chapters at the University of Iowa. Each chapter belongs to one of 4 governing councils.
Interfraternity Council
IFC seeks to create community among its fraternities, promoting leadership, academic excellence, and brotherhood among its members.
Multicultural Greek Council
MGC fosters a close-knit community by connecting students through shared cultural experiences within fraternities and sororities.
National Pan-Hellenic Council
The NPHC serves as the governing body for historically Black Greek-letter organizations, known as the “Divine Nine,” fostering a legacy of cultural heritage, academic excellence, and community service.
Panhellenic Council
PHC oversees sororities, focusing on uniting chapters to foster leadership, scholarship, friendship, and service as their Iowa founders of the past.
