This educational aims to inform students about several topics relating to personal cybersecurity. Phishing, good password policy, malware protection/prevention, doxxing (The practice of using personal information posted online in order to discover more information), cyberbullying, and the amount of information that we post online/the dangers that come from oversharing information will be the core points of the presentation. Additionally, the presentation aims to dispel some commonly held myths and beliefs about hackers and cybersecurity, such as "Macs can't get viruses" and "Hackers are in the dark corners of the internet". As technology advances, security becomes an increasingly important part in our use of the internet and technology, but education about security is slower than the growth of technology.
