Multicultural Greek Council Membership Intake
At the beginning of each semester, the MGC works with the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) to host Meet the Greeks, an event that allows students to meet the various multicultural and historically African-American fraternities and sororities on campus. In addition to Meet the Greeks, students can meet our chapters at the Student Org Fair every semester.
Individually, each chapter will also hold its recruitment period at the beginning of every semester. These recruitment events typically consist of informational meetings, philanthropic and educational sessions, and social events. Interested students are strongly encouraged to attend these events, research the organizations, and attend other programs held by the chapter to learn more about the organization and its members.

National Pan-Hellenic Council Membership Intake
Each NPHC Fraternity and sorority brings in new members based on their chapter schedule and their need for chapter growth through a process called Membership Intake. When organizations are looking to conduct membership intake, many of them will host an informational meeting in which criteria for membership is explained. Such meetings are usually publicized via flyers on campus or via the chapters social media page.
NPHC will host a general information session about all of its organizations for students who have questions about the intake process. This information session, called "Meet the Greeks" is often hosted in conjunction with MGC chapters within the first two weeks of each semester. This is a great opportunity to meet our culturally based fraternities and sororities and get to know them in an informal setting.
NPHC affiliated fraternities and sororities typically do not accept a student for membership until the student has completed at least 12-24 hours of college credit with a minimum GPA requirement (set by each chapter). Prospective members must also demonstrate campus and/or community involvement.
In the event that one is interested in joining a NPHC fraternity or sorority, one is strongly encouraged to show interest by attending chapter programs and events, getting to know members of that organization, researching information about the organization in which one is interested, and by attending an interest meeting or informational for the chapter in which one is interested in.
