Panhellenic Council

History

Sorority life at Iowa began with Pi Beta Phi and Kappa Kappa Gamma in 1882. Today, the Panhellenic Council includes 15 chapters. These unique chapters carry out the same values of leadership, scholarship, friendship and service as their Iowa founders of the past.

Primary Recruitment

Registration for Primary Recruitment 2018 is now open. Register here by August 1. Students must be considered a full-time student (registered for at least 12 semester hours at UI) to participate. Primary Recruitment 2018 will take place the weekends of August 24 to August 26 and August 31 to September 3.

The Panhellenic Council welcomes potential new members to enroll in Primary Recruitment at the beginning of the fall semester. This values-based process guides potential new members in identifying their personal values, discussing those values with the sorority women during their conversations and making a choice based on the sorority that holds those values dear. This process ensures women will find their true home in a Panhellenic sorority.
